Solar Solve Marine, the British manufacturer of SOLASOLV® boat sun shades for navigation windows has won a contract to supply 18 SOLASOLV® boat sun shades to Seven Eagle, the construction / flexlay diving vessel which is managed by Subsea 7. It is designed to undertake field development and construction activities and has a 16-man twin bell saturation diving system.

Solar Solve have specialised in providing sun and glare protection to the marine and offshore industry for almost 30 years. SOLASOLV® boat sun shades are installed at the windows of all types of ships, rigs and cranes worldwide. Regarded as essential safety equipment, the boat sun shades effectively reject up to 87% of heat and up to 93% of glare from the sun, significantly reducing eye-strain and fatigue, and improving outward visibility. SOLASOLV® boat sun shades are the only boat sun shades in the world to be Type Approved by DNV-GL, Lloyds’ and ABS.

Seven Eagle was originally built by Boelwerf Shipyard in Belgium in 1997 . It is 138 metres long with 112 berths and has up to 65 days of endurance with a transit speed of 12.5 knots.

Paul Hopkins, Solar Solve’s Sales & Marketing Executive commented, “We were delighted to receive this order to supply 18 SOLASOLV® boat sun shades just before Christmas. They were manufactured in our UK factory then despatched to Australia the following day. They will help to reduce glare and reflection on the navigation bridge whilst the vessel operates at sea, as the sun can be a problem in this area.”
