Ron Taylor, our Production Manager has retired. The end of an era, Ron, who worked for Solar Solve for exactly 18 years to the day, and rose through the ranks from Production Technician to Production Manager, will have finally put his feet up and will be enjoying a well deserved rest! Ron worked for British coal for more than 30 years before joining Solar Solve on 22 July 1996. After 18 months Ron was promoted from Production Technician to Technical Engineer, then in 2004 Ron was promoted to Production Supervisor and again in 2006 to Production Manager. To celebrate Ron’s hard work and loyal service the company held a dinner party at the Sea hotel in July, and Ron was presented with gifts and cards from the company and staff.
Even though Ron will be missed, we have three members of staff who have now taken over Ron’s responsibilities. Adam Reilly, who has worked for Solar Solve for 11 years, has been promoted from Production Deputy to Production & Mailroom Supervisor and will take over all responsibilities for production. Jamie Ellwood, who has also worked for Solar Solve for 11 years has been promoted from Production Technician to Deputy Production & Mailroom Supervisor. Jamie will assist Adam, provide cover in Adam’s absence, and will also continue his role of Health & Safety officer. Meanwhile, Krys Short, who has worked for Solar Solve for 8½ years, has been promoted from Production Technician to Technical Officer. Krys’s duties include production, technical, and R & D projects.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish Ron a happy, healthy and long retirement and congratulate Adam, Jamie and Krys on their new job roles – well done!
