We recently dispatched a consignment of Type Approved DIMMLITE roller blinds to Kuwait. Electrically powered and electronically remotely controlled, they will be installed at 23 windows in the new Air Traffic Control Tower. The completion of the ATC tower, in July 2023, should see the culmination of a 5-year, 8 billion US dollar development scheme, started in 2018, to bring Kuwait International Airport right up to date and ready for the future.
The establishment of the new tower is aimed at raising the level of air traffic safety at the airport. A computer-generated image is attached (© Kuwait Directorate General for Civil Aviation).
Carl Johnson, Solar Solve’s Operations Manager commented, “The Sales, Technical and Administration Team at Solar Solve have been working on this project with our customer in Kuwait for over 2 years, as they had plenty of notice they were going to be awarded the contract for the ATC tower window blinds, when it was built. It is a typical example of collaborating with a client to determine the ideal Solar Solve product to suit their needs.”
Carl added, “The airport is located in one of the hottest climate zones on earth. The ATC tower window coverings are an important item, having to control the sun’s heat and glare in the most effective, efficient and environmentally friendly way. When in use, the DIMMLITE roller blinds will create a safer working environment for personnel, by significantly reducing solar glare, infra-red heat and ultraviolet radiation.”
