On the 6th May all eighteen of Solar Solve Marine’s employees held a party in the local Sea Hotel to celebrate Julie Lightfoot and Carl Johnson’s long service with the company. Managing Director Julie joined the family business in 1991 as General Manager and has 20 years service; Operations Director Carl joined in 2001 also as General Manager and has 10 years service. In line with the established tradition, at the celebration party a presentation was made by the directors to thank Julie and Carl for their hard work and loyal service.
One employee who only just made the event was Production Technician Krystopher Short, who only arrived at Newcastle airport a couple of hours earlier having been to France on an installation job for the company. A few weeks earlier Krys had visited the luxury Superyacht ‘MY Solemar’ to measure the wheelhouse windows for the installation of 10 of Solar Solve’s brand leading ‘SOLASAFE’ roller screens that reject glare, heat and uv light and 6 pieces of window film. He obviously impressed the crew because they specially requested that Krys return to install them, which he was happy to do, when the vessel was at the La Ciotat shipyard in Marseille.
Captain Nick Doyle, Master of ‘MY Solemar’ thanked the company and its staff for a speedy reply to his enquiry and quick service. He said, “It’s great to deal with a company that has a great service ethic; very important in our game when speed is of the essence.”
Solar Solve’s Chairman, John Lightfoot commented, “ ‘MY Solemar’ was yet another order confirming that Solar Solve’s team members will travel to any part of the world to delight our customers. Lilian and I are very proud of the team and the fact that today’s long-service celebration brings the number of employees who have been with SSM for 10 years or more, up to 6 and in September it will go up to 8, which is 45% of the total.”
