Three years ago we enjoyed the excitement of our famous SOLASAFE screens being featured at the navigation bridge windows of U.S. containership Maersk Alabama when it featured in the true movie Captain Phillips, starring Tom Hanks.
In 2017 we are looking forward to more excitement when we expect to see 15 SOLASAFE screens at the navigation bridge windows of USS EISENHOWER in another movie. The order, dispatched in October, was received from CBS UK Productions and is for a film with the working title The Long Walk, which is set in Istanbul and described as a seminal action thriller.
It tells the story of a young man recruited by a CIA black ops unit who is trained by a hardened Cold War Veteran, played by Michael Keaton – best known for his role as Batman in Tim Burton’s adaptations of Batman and Batman Returns.
Also starring is 25-year-old actor Dylan O’Brien who suffered from multiple broken bones after an accident in March 2016 whilst filming a scene for Maze Runner: The Death Cure . The duo uncover a deadly plot that could be the catalyst for World War III.
Described as a fast-paced thriller, some filming has already taken place in Croydon and Birmingham town centres and at some point they will be shooting scenes on ‘USS EISENHOWER’, if they have not already done so.
Based on the best-selling novel American Assassin, which will be the title of the movie when it is released, the film is directed by Michael Cuesta, whose credits include Homeland, Dexter and Six Feet Under. It’s all good stuff.
