Solar Solve Marine, the British manufacturer of SOLASOLV® anti-glare, heat rejecting roller screens and ROLASOLV® fabric roller blinds for ships, has recently been awarded a large multi-order to supply 48 SOLASOLV® anti-glare screens and 34 ROLASOLV® fabric roller blinds to MS King Seaways, a cruise ferry owned and operated by DFDS Seaways, Northern Europe’s largest shipping and logistics company.  DFDS is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark and operates ferries across Europe.

The four orders were all placed in the last few months and the latest order for screens was installed on the MS King Seaways by Solar Solve technicians in September, across a number of days when the ferry was docked at North Shields on the river Tyne, in-between journeys to and from to IJmuiden in the Netherlands.

Solar Solve has supplied more than 153,500 screens and roller blinds to over 15,890 ships worldwide since 1987, and all products are ISO 9001:2015 quality assured.  The company’s main product line is the brand leading SOLASOLV® range of heat rejecting, anti-glare roller screens for navigation bridge and control room windows.  The primary benefit of the screens is to ensure safer navigation on the bridge by reducing glare so electronic displays and equipment are easier to read, whilst providing a clear outward view without eye-strain.  ROLASOLV® is the company’s other product line which includes fabric roller blinds and blackout blinds for cabins.  They are the only fabric blinds in the world to be Type Approved by DNV-GL in accordance with the mandatory IMO FTPC Part 7 A.563(14) Resolution .

Andreas Kristensen, Captain of King Seaways commented, “We had SOLASOLV® sunscreens installed on Princess Seaways and were extremely happy with them so we wanted to install them on our other ship King Seaways. The Solar Solve team did a great job of measuring and fitting the 48 film sunscreens on the bridge and also fitting the 34 fabric roller blinds in the cabins of the crew.  We are extremely satisfied once again with their products and service.”
