Earlier this year I did a piece on how Solar Solve was almost perfect and that we had our Quality System in place for over 20 years. Unbeknown at the time that one of our Type Approval bodies was changing the way that it audits companies. ABS had previously allowed companies that had their own in-house Quality Systems to apply for Type Approval; however, in early March we were informed that to continue with ABS Type Approval we would need official ISO 9001 Registration.
Of course for Solar Solve that was no problem! One of our USP’s is that we are the only company in the World to hold 3 Type Approvals (Lloyds, DNV-GL & ABS) for our SOLASOLV® range of Anti-Glare, Heat Rejecting Sunscreens. So there was no question that we would do our upmost to achieve the ISO 9001 Registration required to continue with ABS. And that we did! In a little under 6 months with the new system in place, the ISO 9001 Auditor came and signed us off.
