Solar Solve Marine’s Response During Covid-19
I try to avoid blogging about COVID-19 because so many other people do it. For some individuals, Covid-19 has been and still is all-consuming to the point of hysteria and beyond.
Fortunately, there are a few who are unable to cope and do need to talk about their concerns and need help to overcome them.
The vast majority of people just put up with it, not so much by choice but more because there are very few alternatives.
Coping with the Second UK Lockdown
My main reason for these Covid-19 comments in this blog is because I am writing it on Thursday, 5 November 2020, the first day of the UK government’s 19 NOVEMBER 2020 4-WEEK UK LOCKDOWN.
Luckily, at the time of writing, Solar Solve Marine’s South Shields-based HQ and production facility is in an area that is going against the national trend. New cases of the virus are dropping in South Tyneside and the surrounding area, which is great news for us.
Continuing Operations and Commitment
That means that for the time being at least, 93% of our employees are working full-time and we are continuing to deal with enquiries, RFQs and production of orders effectively, efficiently and with no delays.
We continue to keep our 100% record of having all orders ready for dispatch on time and often within one day, or even the same day, of receiving an order, when required. We expect that this new lockdown will have the required effect and drastically reduce the number of new cases of people being affected by the Coronavirus, especially the number of deaths caused by it.
Following the Rules to Make a Difference
If the public at large, and that means EVERYONE, obeys the rules and guidelines, the new lockdown should work exceptionally well. During my 61-year working life, I have often encountered situations where rules, guidelines, legislation, call it what you will, are in place and are accepted by everyone. The problem is, some of the people who accept them assume that, for some reason, the rules don’t apply to them… just everyone else. It is one of the main problems that governments all over the world have to deal with while trying to stem the spread of the Coronavirus. Has anyone got any workable, realistic ideas of how they can do it?? Because I haven’t.
