In line with Solar Solve Marine’s continuous efforts to remain No.1 in the marine industry for the manufacture and supply of roller sunscreens as a navigation safety aid, the company has just won a 4th Type Approval Certification for their SOLASOLV products.
During 2018 RINA, the Italian Type Approval Classification Society, carried out a Document Audit on their first visit to Solar Solve’s South Shields based manufacturing facility and on a later visit a Product Performance and in-depth inspection audit took place. Further rigorous testing by examiners at RINA followed and once everything was found to be successful, Solar Solve was awarded a RINA Type Approval Certificate for its SOLASAFE® and SOLAROLA® retractable anti-glare roller screen products.
The SOLASOLV brand of anti glare screens is now type approved by 4 of the world’s leading marine classification societies, LLOYDS of the UK, DNV-GL (Det Norske Veritas of Norway), ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and RINA.
As well as RINA being on site twice during 2018 to carry out external audits, Solar Solve also underwent 14 successful Internal Audits plus an associated successful external audit by ABS-QE for the company’s ISO9001:2015 Quality Assurance Accreditation. ABS also carried out a Type Approval audit during 2018 and that too, was a success.
